Heavy smoke and consumed documents littered around the ICT department of the electoral empire, confirming a fire incident there.
According to those around, the fire started in the morning within the voter registry department where documents and other personal effects were damaged.
The heavy smoke that was emitting from the so called mild inferno attracted workers and firemen who were around the building.
It was not a joke as the firemen and some officers of the national emergency management agency fought and put out the fire.
Although our video clips show reckages and rubbles caused by the fire, INEC authorities insist only unimportant documents were damaged.
They said the fire stopped where it started.
Although the cause of the incident was not known as at the time of filing this report, the directors say its cause would be made public after investigation.
More proactive measure must however be taken by the commission to avoid future occurrence particularly now that 2015 is fast approaching
